Musical Shape Shifters
The musicians in Next Gen Idol grew up together in and around Roswell Georgia and bonded over their shared passions for classic rock and roll. Each member brings a unique musical aesthetic to the band and over the years we’ve grown comfortable jumping genres and mashing up influences. Our latest work synthesizes all of this into a set of unique songs, each with their own personality. No cookie cutters here.
Remembering Our Past
As young kids just out of high school, the nucleus of NGI was already in place. The songwriting team of Lloyd and McConville had already created a dynamic and original sound. Over the years, their collaboration has matured and so have the songs. Never satisfied with rehashing old ideas. All of our songs have unique personalities and emotions. You would be hard pressed to find a band with more variety in their original output.
Looking to the Future
This new collection marks a turning point for the band. Gone are the days of one night stands. We are now primarily a studio band, Artists spending whatever time and effort is necessary to craft the best possible representations of our musical vision. Drawing from classic rock, progressive rock, pop, metal, blues and more, our style is both ever evolving, yet hard to pigeonhole. Don't try to categorize us.
Best just to crank it up and enjoy the ride.
